Onlife Health Earns NCQA Accreditation
Brentwood, Tenn., Aug. 26, 2015—Onlife Health, a workplace wellness company serving health plans and employers providing benefits to more than 10 million covered members, has received the Wellness and Health Promotion Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA's Wellness and Health Promotion (WHP) Accreditation involves rigorous review of the key functions wellness and health organizations perform, focusing specifically on areas of interest to consumers and employers. WHP Accreditation uses standardized program measures that allow employers to make informed comparisons when choosing among several wellness vendors.
“We are honored to earn our third consecutive NCQA accreditation,” said Danny Timblin, president and CEO of Onlife Health. “This is a nationally recognized, comprehensive evaluation of key areas of health promotion, including how wellness programs are implemented in the workplace, how services such as health coaching are provided to help individuals make healthy lifestyle choices, and how sensitive health information is properly safeguarded. This accreditation affirms our commitment to satisfying NCQA’s thorough standards, including evidence-based requirements to distinguish quality health and wellness services.”
Wellness and Health Promotion Accreditation involves rigorous on-site and off-site evaluations of 12 standards including organization engagement, privacy and confidentiality, self-management tools, health coaching, and measuring effectiveness. A team of experts conducts surveys and a national oversight committee of physicians analyzes the findings and assigns an accreditation level based on the performance of each organization being evaluated.
“NCQA’s Wellness and Health Promotion Accreditation requires organizations to demonstrate their compliance with well-defined standards and quality measures,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, NCQA President. “The NCQA seal will provide employers and consumers with the information they need to choose the best program in their markets.”
